Mentoring with the Art of Love

Part 1: A day in our summer nature camp

I know I'm having an excellent day living my soul work when I have a wolf on one cheek, a sun on the other and a heart on my forehead drawn by some pretty special humans.

Today in my nature camp we had a ceremony gazing at a tree, then each following our heart to silently hugging this beautiful tree without our sight, and finding our way back to our spot in the circle by our friend playing the drum. Some of us chose to be guided by a friend to the alder, some of us chose to walk ourselves to the alder blindfolded. It was empowering to come back home to our spot after being guided to the tree, and seeing again. Coming home to the beat of belonging. After we sat down, a question was asked in the group, "how does someone who can't see know which way to walk to the tree?" The consensus came "It may be that they are using their other 4 senses, touch, taste, sound, smell. -And even perhaps cheating!- they're peeking!" I smiled, knowing that it didn't matter if kids peeked, they still had a glowing sense of self empowerment coming back to the circle; feeling my heart swell with pride I then added, "It could also be that they are using their heart compass." "What is a heart compass?" "Well you know how a compass works- Showing you the direction as an arrow- north east south west... The compass does this because of a magnet in the Earth that push or pull the arrow. The Earth has a beautiful magnetic field in its core, it's centre, way under our feet that stretches far and wide.... Its like an invisible forcefield that is sensed by tools and creatures on the planet that has a magnetic field. Guess who else has a huge magnetic field all of its own? The human heart. Our own heart. Our hearts magnetic field, is actually much stronger and much much wider than our brains waves, stretching reeeally wide and far in every direction! So our heart can be very useful to find out which direction we want to go, than just thinking about it. In the same way that homing pigeons find their way home when they can't read the skies on a cloudy day, they use their inner compass that guides them back home. We also can do this. We can also guide ourselves in directions without seeing with our eyes because our magnetic field, the compass, in our heart, is always in touch with the Earth's magnetic forcefield that also extends from it's heart. The magnetic waves of the Earth go up up past our atmosphere they are that big, always hugging us. So where ever we are on this planet our heart will always guide us to where we want to go and back to home. All we have to be is relax and listen, and let our heart guide us". As everyone quietly listened -we then noticed that this alder tree hugged us over head with its leaves and protected us with its shadows... The ceremony led us to draw 'I love you' cards for the tree and give our gratitudes as we acknowledged the love in us that is also the love in the world. Pictures of roots, groots, trees galore and double love hearts and rainbows burst into scene that we gifted to the tree. Many of us felt drawn to give it the alder tree more happy cheek to cheek, heart to heart hugs. Then we embarked on a painting ceremony decorating each other beside us in the circle. We were so proud of our designs from a radiating grounded heart. There was no shortage of telling each other how beautiful and cool the paintings were, no matter if the wolf looked different on different cheeks, it was unique and very awesome and we commended our friends paintings wholeheartedly. We trusted and loved what was painted on us by our friends, and we loved painting ourselves with our own hands.

To celebrate nature,

to celebrate each others creativity, as well as our own unique creativity and unique bodies is such a wonderful experience. It comes full circle as the love is reflected in All.

Love is Us. Us is love. I am love. Love I am. You are Love. Love you Be. We love Trees!
